My initial reaction to the thought of allowing floating vessels on a lake is that whatever improvement that is proposed may be ignored.
I say that because we know that even though there are clear rules around speed close to shore lines,
it is completely not followed. Quite simply it is never monitored. The rule is there and the rule is broken all of the time. No one enforces the rules, and when people are challenged about the safety concerns, or the shoreline damage, it is treated like an imposition.
Not to be a cynic, but it is my belief that the rules will be ignored by enough floating party participants, to adversely affect the safety of the lake dwellers, the fragile (climate change) water quality, and the declining peace and tranquility of the natural environment.
