These shipping containers are an absolute eye sore on the lake. Imagine 20-30 of these in a small bay or lake. Not only does it disturb fish habitat and spawning areas by putting the spuds down they pose a risk for boats hitting them as they will be in areas that could be dangerous especially at night. I can not believe that the Ont. GOV. Is even considering allowing these as before it was an absolute NO.
The gentleman building these is doing it just to cause an uproar on the lakes and the Gov. is allowing this behaviour…. Shame on you!
Where does the waste go and who will be removing the waste and grey water? As well as pollution from where ever these shipping containers have come from and rust running into the lakes. How long after inspection do you think it will take someone to bypass a grey water / sewage holding tank straight into the lake when a pump out with barging fees reach upwards of $1000 or more.
The township sees no tax dollars from these shipping containers and will be all over already over populated and crowded lakes.
Terrible idea I cannot believe this is still being considered SHUT IT DOWN BEFORE ITS TO LATE AND THESE ARE ALL OVER THE LAKES!
There will be problems with these in the future if they are allowed. If one is abandoned who cleans the mess and removes the container.
This society is lazy and you think people will look after these? Wrong.
What happens when one is left in the ice? Think of what moving shifting ice can do to a dock/ boat house. How does something like this be removed from our waters and the eye sore that will be. Good luck holding the person responsible / fining them each day one of these is in the water and the hazards the pose.
Shame on the Gov. for even giving these the time of day PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THESE ON OUR WATER WAYS!
