Floating containers should never be allowed on the lakes. Your proposed changes will help if we can’t stop them. You have mentioned most of the points I have written about before so I won’t repeat them. All the environmental issues are valid concerns. I have not seen definitive info on where the waste water and grey water goes. If any discharge is allowed into the lake then I must ask why I have to abide by rules for my septic system. I abide because I care about the environment but that alone won’t save the lake. You don’t buy real estate on a lake only to have a container move to block your space, the fish habitat, turtle routes, swans etc. what if these containers park in a spot that makes it hard to get around hidden rocks? They change the flow of marine traffic putting boaters at risk. They set down legs to anchor themselves to the bottom and changing the delicate eco system. If a fire starts - whose taxes are paying to help? Where do they leave their cars? Cottagers can’t put a boat house or dock into the water without going through hoops. If these containers are allowed then Cottagers need to have the same right to destroy the shoreline and lake.
