Aside from being environmentally dangerous, these structures have the potential of destroying the enjoyment of tax paying cottagers and permanent residents who will have to contend with their presence. Here is a short list of issues
- lack of resources to monitor and enforce rules
- disruption of shoreline for wildlife
- potential for sewage and other pollutants being dumped
- fire and rescue resources already strained and often provided by volunteers. No location method available to access
- lack of parking for vehicles
- additional boat traffic by boaters unfamiliar with lakes
- these floating’camp sites’ should be confined to provincial parks where they can be monitored and rules enforced
We are already struggling with temporary rental issues. This issue just adds to the problems. We need to protect the precious natural resources from further destruction. Do not approve this proposal.
