We are owners of a lakefront seasonal home on Georgian Bay near Port Severn. We support the proposed changes which would effectively stop floating homes being established, while protecting for cruising boats at anchor for reasonable periods.
A further distinction between cruising boats and float homes that could be used to distinguish the two, is that cruising boats have to have a marina slip rented (which have waste pumping facilities) or a trailer. Floating homes would not have a slip nor trailer.
