I feel I’m not alone on the suggestions of limiting anchorages to 300m from developer shoreline unsafe and not practical. 300 meters put boats of any and all size at severe risk of lose including life to the unprotected waterways from storm, waves, swimming (especially small children and boat traffic. As a boat in situations where safety is of concern the common law is to seek a sheltering inlet to protect from the elements. These elements can be introduced without warning by weather and or traffic. Either of which is unforgiving and can take the lives of the most seasoned water goer. I strongly believe this impact would not only put boaters at risk, but if injury, loss of life or property where to occur, this could also bring these deep water anchorage limits into question legally. The simplest of solutions is to limit noise and pollution within reason and allow the large amount of boater to enjoy what or Canadian waters can provide them is a safe manner. Stripping rights of access and passage and safe Harbour is not the answer.
