As relatively new cottage property owner we were very surprised to have boats anchoring less than 25 metres from our dock, and more often than not groups of cruisers (3-4 boats) anchoring together. We bought this land in a secluded bay for peace and quiet and our love of nature. We fully adhered to environmental constraints in order to protect the shoreline and species at risk. We see boaters drop anchor in the shallow part of the bay in an area rich in wildlife, and sometimes attach anchors to rocks and trees, while also letting there dogs on shore to do their business and chase wildlife. Privacy and our enjoyment of beautiful Georgian Bay have been compromised by a culture of boating that seems to not honour the privilege of it's use. We are fully in support of these amendments to Ontario Regulation 161/17. Thank you!
