These proposed changes will in fact only incite division and rage between seasonal boaters and cottage owners. All of the noise of late is around the floating container cottages, and yet this will target true boaters more. Lowering the days from 21 to 7 only matters for the same boat- so a different boat can come in and take the spot of the other boat on day 8- does it really make a difference if the true intent is as listed, due to environmental impacts, NO. As for the change to 300 meters from 100- this is where the division is coming in. I think the changes need to exclude true boats. You will in fact have a bigger impact on the environment, due to forcing boaters to moor in less protected areas, where more damages to boats will happen that in fact leak oil and fuel into our precious system.
The impact to tourism for the area I boat in, Trent Servern waterway and Georgian bay, will be felt by business across the board, and is not a good move.
