It would appear that while trying to deal with the permanent mooring on public lands and the non payment of taxes by these vessels the recreational boater will be impacted.
Owners of cruising vessels contribute to the economy through marina fees, groceries, fuel and repairs.
The Mayor of Georgian Bay, who apparently is lobbying for change, seams to have forgotten where some of the revenue comes from.
As for grey water, more boaters will have to accumulate in one area instead of spreading out through multiple anchorages. This would worsen the situation.
Please note that recreational boaters enjoy cruising and sailing not staying in the marina. If that were the case they would own cottages.
