This proposal significantly impacts boaters in Georgian Bay. As a boater, this proposal will force me to get out of boating as it fundamentally changes the way cruisers boat in the area. It will also close the marinas, given there will be few boaters left. It also means both my children who work at marinas in the area will lose their jobs. This is a wide sweeping proposal that would wipe out very many of the common anchorages in Georgian Bay. Limiting the number of days in one location is fine, even the distance between destinations, but the 300m rule will mean there is almost nowhere to anchor out overnight.
This is a ridiculous proposal just to ensure floating house barges don’t get anchored in one place all summer. I can agree the a towed barge being left in one place for the summer is not acceptable, but killing all cruising boating in the process is not acceptable.
