This will wipe out the marine industry on the Great Lakes. It will affect towns, business and individuals that rely on supporting boaters. All because some entitled landowners don't want to see a few houseboats. Other country's have embraced floating homes and they have become an important part of the community. Example, Midland and Penetanguishene have multiple marinas that easily make up more than 3000 boats.
Most of those boaters will spend money at restaurants, hardware stores, retail stores in the downtown. I would bet that if all those boaters can't use their boat because of the restriction, it could easily affect these two towns by 30-50 million dollars a season. Good paying marine mechanic jobs will disappear.
Also the province has no jurisdiction over waterways. There is also the Canadian Navigable Waters Act to consider
