As a property owner, I support the proposal to restrict on water camping within 300m of developed shoreline.
On water camping closer than 300m to developed shoreline increases danger when docking or swimming. It increases the likelihood of property damage. It increases the likelihood of damage to natural shoreline and sloughs that are cared for and protected by homeowners. It threatens wildlife.
On water campers often have dogs that need access to land. The dogs are brought ashore or permitted to swim ashore to relieve themselves when on water camping is permitted close to developed land. It’s trespassing and it needs to be stopped.
