I have all of the same concerns already raised about floating accommodations as follows:
1) Impacts to waterways, islands and access.
2) Persons occupying public lands without authorization and excluding others from using that land.
3) Noise pollution, aesthetic, and privacy-related impacts to waterfront private property owners.
4) Public safety concerns and emergency services (e.g., fire response).
5) Wastewater management (grey and black water discharge).
6) Commercial use including short-term rentals.
7) Increased volume of stationary vessels or structures on waterways contributing to greater risk of collisions, and congestion in desired areas.
8) Lack of payment of property taxes and application of building permits.
9) Impacts to water quality, aquatic plants (e.g., wild rice in northwest), lake beds, fish, wildlife and habitat.
These are my concerns exactly. I want to add; imagine that a large manufactured home on wheels is parked in front of a residential home anywhere, imagine the impact on property value, privacy, quality of life!
Please prevent the destruction of our good lake stewardship by floating barges and cottages inundating our tax paying homes and cottages.
