These floating “cottages” are a danger to our environment and any approval that would allow them to exist on our lakes gives the individual promoting them a way to circumvent the systems we have in place to protect our land, our people and the wildlife in the area.
They are not a vessel and must be towed and anchored while damaged the waterbed and the ecosystem,
There is insufficient wastewater management in these structures. This creates health and safety concerns for all.
The current structure in Gloucester Pool is losing pieces of styrofoam from the undercarriage that is currently frozen in the lake in multiple area- the “owner” states this is just a prototype and they are perfecting the process.
The owner of this prototype claims to be supporting the community when in fact he is damaging it. He is not following process and is proud of the fact that this concept avoids the
payment of property taxes and avoids the application of building permits.
