As a property owner and full time resident living on Sturgeon Lake, I fully support the proposal to add a new condition to prohibit camping on water within 300 meters of a developed shoreline, provided that the OPP and other agencies are able to enforce the limit when required.
Also, I upgraded my waste water holding tank last year and was told that neither a septic bed nor an add-on grey water system was an option for my lot on Sturgeon Lake. I also regularly swim long distances in the lake, so I would strongly support prohibiting any vessels from discharging grey and/or black water in order to lessen adverse impacts to water quality and aquatic life.
I am also supportive of the other concerns such as not paying taxes to support emergency services, noise and light pollution and boating safety if too many stationary vessels.
