This entire proposal is transparently terrible for indigenous sovereignty and rights as well as the environment. It is nothing short of vile to seek to strip regulatory and already lax rehabilitation safeguards for mines. Industry that further erodes Canada's already dwindling natural landscape to pollute and destroy our planet are the exact opposite of what we promise on the world stage. Rapid and radical reversal of the climate crisis is necessary to our future and this flies in the face of that responsibility.
