I understand that the amendments regarding the 21-day limit and distances from developed shoreline have been recalled. I don’t know why these would be removed from consideration before the consultation process was over.
I strongly support the proposed amendments to limit the duration of camping on the water to 7 days and to put in place the 300-meter from developed shoreline restriction.
Concerns about wastewater and use of boat-cleaning chemicals inform my support. In addition, honouring treaty rights and wild rice beds, as well as fish, fowl, and fauna habitat preservation should be prioritized in making decisions about how to steward our waters.
