My farm is located one concession due south, approximately .5 kilometer from the area of concern. I operate a commercial vineyard that relies on pure spring fed water for irrigation as well as cleaning equipment and spraying the crops. It is a very active spring that flows directly from this area. There is also a spring fed pond/wetland that was approved and dug with the help of Ducks Unlimited and St. Clair region Conservation Authority. This habitat has attracted numerous species including Leopard frogs, bull frogs, spring peepers and tree toads. There is also largemouth bass, wild ducks, Blue herons, green herons, king fishers ,purple martins, the list goes on. I also have a commercial apiary and the bees rely on fresh clean water from the pond as well as the municipal ditch that drains from the same area and passes within meters of their hives. I have done a lot of research on the topography and geographic importance of this area. We are surrounded by marshes and black muck that was formed after the last ice age, 12,800 years ago. Making it very vulnerable to contamination as the soil is very porous and ground water diffuses rapidly into the aquifer. Well water is the only source that this area can rely on and any introduction of toxic waste will adversely affect a significant number of properties. And then there is the smell. Property values will more than likely decline. Human waste can also include pharmaceuticals , estrogens etc. Please don't approve this.
