Ontario's latest housing plan encourages sprawl, which will be disastrous for our communities and province. This plan will take away irreplaceable natural habitats for flora/fauna and important flood absorption sites. It will also come at a high cost to cities responsible for maintain the public infrastructure and services. Instead of continuing to support sprawl to meet the province's housing needs, we need to focus on building denser communities that are walkable and have valuable public services and spaces that people want to live close to. We need more on the 'missing middle' by building multi-unit houses and smaller apartments in already established neighbourhoods.
