The data is indisputable. The carbon footprint of animal agriculture is a major driver of climate change. The methane, the CO2 from transport of feed and livestock and deforestation are all contributing to this existential threat. Please stop allowing the lobbyists for the beef, dairy and poultry industry to meddle with good governance. It is imperative that we rapidly transition away from animal agriculture in order to sustain an ecosystem that can support life. Right now, we're in Ecological Overshoot. We need to scale back to a much more modest, and plant based agricultural system.
