Dear Sir/Madam,
I oppose the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of existing licenses for dog train-and-trial areas in Ontario.
Such dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals that used to train dogs to hunt. Wildlife must not be taken from their natural environments to be held captive by hunters. It is inhumane to use rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as bait to train dogs.
Allowing new licenses for such facilities is a big step in the wrong direction for Ontario. Such facilities have no place in our province. Instead of allowing new applications, the existing facilities in Ontario should be closed down.
Thank you for your sincere consideration. Please stop this harm to our precious wildlife.
