I oppose Bill 97, and believe strongly that it should not be passed. Farmland in Ontario is being destroyed at a very alarming rate due to housing projects. This land will be forever ruined for food production, and that is a serious consideration as we deal with Climate Change and an ever expanding population. We desperately need land in order to produce food for human and animal consumption. Housing can be built in already built-up areas by increasing density. Single-family homes are not the way to build future housing, since they are a very inefficient use of scarce land.
I would like to see Bill 97 defeated, and more consideration given to valuable farmland in this province.
