This is incredibly short sighted. Once farmland is lost to development you can’t get it back. Housing needs can be met on a much smaller land base. All this does is create more large, expensive lots for the rich, inflating the price of land and blocking it a new generation of farmers. The problem is a lack of affordable housing, in established communities with amenities where people can actually work and live.
