The changes imposed by the proposed Provincial Planning Statement is a very significant shift in where development is directed and how communities will grow. As identified in the attached material, the proposed changes are much more permissive and it would be easier to expand settlement area boundaries and designate land for development. Furthermore, the proposed changes will make it easier to establish more housing within prime agricultural lands. These changes would have a considerable impact on the Township of Oro-Medonte’s Planning resources in order to accommodate the influx of development applications received by the Planning Division.
