I oppose legislation changes that would permit further fragmentation of agricultural land in Ontario. Prime farm land is a precious resource, and when residential use expands further and further into this resource, it threatens our food security and sustainability in the future. The impact of current housing practices also permanently changes the possibility for that land to return to agricultural use. Furthermore, fragmentation of agricultural land is not even being pursued for truly affordable or sustainable housing.
