Very please this project is moving forward. As a resident of Bracebridge and an advent user of the Provincial Park system, this is an excellent opportunity to create a park with basically a blank slate.
I do have a couple of comments
Firstly, I would suggest that rental of canoes is a good option. Not installing a boat launch is also not a bad idea. Bigwind Lake is not that large and the impact on fish and shore line protection could be of a higher risk with additional boaters. This would also go along way in getting cottagers buy in.
Additionally, while there seems to be a push in Provincial Parks to increase the number of electrical sites, I think a balance with more non electric sites may best suit this location. There are a few private sector camping facilities locally that provide a full service campground and I think it is important to not be in competition with those operators.
Lastly...I did read that cross country ski trails may be an option as well. I would advise caution on this item as it would put you in direct competition with the excellent facilities at Arrowhead. I am a skier...note that the drive from Bracebridge to Arrowhead is about the same distance as the drive to Bigwind...so I think consideration should be given but additional review is required.
Thank you for your time
