While I support many of the proposed policies such as encouraging a mix of housing options, early engagement with Indigenous Peoples, requiring intensification policies, and others. I'm concerned that there is not sufficient direction for municipalities to support housing options for our more vulnerable populations and the affordability crisis we are facing. It is less about increasing supply and more about ensuring housing as a Human Right and less as a commodity for investment. Where are the policies aimed at addressing renovictions, inflation of our housing prices by investors. I realize these are not land-use planning issues but require attention. Perhaps at minimum incorporating a policy to require municipalities to have a policy acknowledging housing as a human right within their OPs would be start.
