To put it simply, please reconsider the use of potable drinking water to wash aggregates. Literally any other source of water such as rain, lake, river is less valuable than potable well water which residents in the area depend on. Existing wells for industry already over compete with residential wells and alternatives must be found going forward.

Also, how is endless pumping the best solution in 2023? The aggregate wash water should be almost entirely reusable after it has time to settle and would therefore not require endless pumping. Invest in a solid reservoir to capture used water and cover it with shade balls to reduce evaporation. Not familiar with this approach? Please see the attached link.

Please understand that educated people aren't against aggregate washing in principle, society benefits from these aggregates in many ways and we DO need them. What is infuriating to people is when these aggregates are produced with a transparently irresponsible method.

Lastly, this is NOT condemnation without an available solution. The technology already exists to do better on this specific issue so please, do better!

Sincerely a concerned neighbor.
