Having recieved the notice of application to take water submitted by Demill Holdings, I would like it known that I strongly disagree with approval of this application.
I have lived at my home for 14 years. In that time I have seen a dramatic reduction in the ground water table avaliable. My well is what is known as artesian and on several occasions it has not produced the water levels that it typically would.
Our home is approximately 4 kms from the proposed water removal site, which is in the same water shed area. On my property we have a pond. On numerous occasions it has been the only remaining water source in the area. There are several neighbors in the immediate area who have their wells going dry yearly. This year has been abnormal in regards to rainfall and should not be considered when making a decision on ground water levels.
It would be irresponsible and negligent to allow such excessive water usage in this area. This is even more important as the signs of global warming and climate change are so apparent.
I encourage anyone to contact me to discuss this matter further.
I want it clearly known that I strongly oppose this application.
