I do not agree this change, should NOT be approved let alone as a category 3. This area is not on well water and aquifer is variable. There are summers where local area have gone dry and this action would impact ability to access water year round.

I certainly oppose the granting this permit to take water at a Category 3 level 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I'm very concerned about the long term adverse environmental impact to wildlife in the area and overall water sustainability and cleanliness to all life in the Shannonville area. Read more

We are quite concerned for everyone's wells. Will this company pay to refill our wells when we run put of water due to your taking our water? This is unacceptable. Just because we are rural does not give you the right to take our water. We need our water to survive. Read more

As a resident, I am extremely concerned about this proposal. Our water source is a fragile commodity, one we shouldn't waste. This is already listed as a category 3, and consideration to expand the amount of water taking is both foolish and short-sighted. Read more

Hello I am concerned about the long term repercussions of this proposal. A Level 3 puts us all at risk of not having resources. Will there be a community out reach an vote? Alongside visibility on long term side effects, also where is the water taken to? Read more

The proposal is a Category 3 permit level. How can this even be considered then? The onus should be on the business requesting this, to prove it will not be an issue for drinking water quality, the environment, impact to wildlife etc. Read more

I am opposed to Demill’s application to dewater Long’s quarry. The amount of water suggested is apt to turn the local groundwater reserves into a dust bowl. All of the neighbours depend on this groundwater to enable human and animal drinking, washing and flushing. Read more

This is a very very very bad plan and should never ever be approved. It will have drastic effects on the environment. With what they are taking out of the water table now some of the ponds that never ever went dry in the hottest summers are now drying up in the summer. Read more

I live on Melrose Road. There are 3 categories and the permit Demill holdings is proposing is a category 3. This is very concerning. The water going back into the ground could be contaminated and could cause environmental issues. Why is this being allowed. Read more
