You have got to be kidding?! There is no way that Ontario should open up its unscrupulous waste management industry to self rule and remove the environmental protection we have with the application and approval process. The current process also gives the public an opportunity to be heard and provides for an appeal process that is so important when it comes to the protection of the environment. The individuals and companies involved in the waste management industry are notorious when it comes to non-compliance so why would you remove the current protections and cause Ontario residents stress, anxiety and worry over whether or not these bad actors are polluting the environment because the current level of scrutiny has been removed.
