As a concerned citizen of Ontario I am opposed to this proposal to "Streamline permissions for waste management systems under the Environmental Activity and Sector Registry". I am also opposed to the proposal to the removal of financial assurance requirements that currently apply to only PCB and Biomedical waste haulers in Ontario.

I am concerned about this proposal as listening in on a recent webinar on this proposal I was concerned when critics questioned MECP staff they admitted that even with the present regulations MECP staff acknowledged that private company waste haulers of waste materials here in Ontario do not comply with the present regulations around hauling hazard waste here in Ontario?

Could you please re-consider this proposal and add that the Province of Ontario will commit to hiring more MECP staff inspectors to ensure that waste haulers throughout Ontario do comply with the present regulations that are in place.

I am also very concerned that this proposal aims to eliminate public participation and comment periods for the public on this proposal (019-6963).

I am also very concerned by part of this proposal that will eliminate the financial assurance requirements for waste haulers in Ontario.

I am concerned that this will put the onus on the provincial government and local municipalities using Ontario tax payer $dollars to be responsible to cover clean-up costs when accidents or spills occur?

Please do not go forward with this proposal.
