As a resident of Uxbridge I am not in support of this proposal. We already have the green space, why introduce A Urban provincial park to attract more people to this area. With the increase of traffic comes increase of garbage, affects on our ecosystems, increase in our municipalities taxes. Who is going to provide police services, emergencies services etc. Just like South River fire services( volunteer based) are provincially in the courts since 2018 because the Ontario government will not pay them for emergency services to Algonquin park for rescues. I realize our Town Council and Mayor are excited to have "Uxbridge" on the map, thinking it will increase business to the community, but as a business owner I think it is going to create more traffic, garbage, put a strained on our services and jeopardize our ecosystems/wildlife. And how is the Provincial government going to manage, supervise and deal with liability in over 20000 acres ?? I am in favor in protecting green space, but it is already space that our taxes pay for and it has worked over 75 -100 years.
