As a member of this community I am concerned for the future generations inability to own a home. We must create a large supply of land in order to give individuals options. I don't want to live downtown and either do my children. Intensification does not give people options. I want land, and the option to have a detached home in the community I live in. Also, for those people that cry about saving the trees, be rest assured that once upon a time, your home replaced a space filled with trees. It is a privileged perspective to insist that immigrants and future generations must live in a highrise , when previous generations had the achievable dream of home ownership. Socialists love the idea of helping people , affordable housing, letting immigrants into our country, but you must give them somewhere to live.
The Federal , Provincial and Municipal government all have different goals, and politicians don't actually care about the city, they care about not upsetting their constituents and getting reelected.
You will eventually need to build, and are delaying the inevitable. Progress takes time, but your housing crisis needs immediate solutions.
