I think there needs to be care and consideration to the nearby tributary that runs to the main river that flows through the community of Dresden. The comment "1,000 tonnes per day of residual waste for final disposal on an annual average basis" is the most concerning as it appears waste will be landfilled in this location. Soil reuse, construction material (solid) seems fine and it already has all of those components but any type of leachate created from this proposed expansion will not be acceptable to the nearby community. We do not want odours, excess trucking on our roads, a visual sore spot heading out of down and most importantly we do not want our river impacted.
The Sydenham River in Dresden is a "highly vulnerable aquifer" area and Mollys creek which abuts the expanded site feeds into the river. If you look at topographic maps the land slopes towards Mollys Creek and therefore leachate is a significant concern to the water body.
