As a local resident and business operator I am extremely concerned about this application for the Dresden Area York 1 waste operation. I am extremely concerned about the volume of traffic, noise, road congestion, and its impact on quality of life and property values in the area.

The current proposal of up to 6000 tonnes per day is mind-blowingly large and unacceptable. At 40 tonnes per truck that would be up to 150 or more trucks per day providing they are fully loaded. That will snarl a small town and road network and increase congestion to tragic levels.

Also, why in the world would a site only 1 km away from a town of more than 2,000 people be considered when there is expansive country property 25km in any direction from here? This is not the type of project you should be putting so close to a beautiful town that is also historic for being the end of the Underground Railroad and houses the Josiah Henson Museum.

We also do not have a current MPP sitting in our area with Monte-McNaughton having retired. Therefore our main means of elected representation speaking to this issue is vacant. All process should be stopped until that by-election is run and that position filled and the new candidate is up to speed on the issue and able to speak into it.

Thanks for listening,
