This whole process of having a gravel pit in our small town has been a shit show. We tried to fight it because we were concerned about the environmental factors and impact to nearby water sources. At first the township supported our concerns until Capital paving threw their lawyers at them and frightened them off. Then we suddenly received notices in the mail inviting us to get hooked up to the township water supply. They know that it’s going to affect our wells but their hands are tied. When Capital applied for the gravel pit they failed to include all of the dug wells that are located adjacent to the site. With this new proposal will these wells dry up or will the nearby creek be affected? They say their experts say no but I’m inclined to disbelieve a corporation that is only looking to make money. Please consider being extra vigilant when you evaluate this proposal so they don’t adversely impact our little town’s water supply.
