Garbage and disposal of…

Garbage and disposal of waste should be the responsibility of the community that created the trash. Disposal of waste, should not be the burden of a rural community 300 Km from the source, Toronto region, to manage. Communities who create waste need to find their own solutions to dispose of materials.
Concerns regarding this proposal by York1 is the environmental impact on the water shed the dump would create to Molly’s Creek that boarders the site that flows to the Sydenham River. The impact on wildlife in the area would be detrimental. Truck traffic in the rural community through Dresden and Hwy 21 to the site would be concerning for communities impacted on the route from either highway 401 or 402. The heavy loads will impact the roads in the area. Proximity to the community is within 2km of Dresden the odour creates another issue of unwanted wildlife e.g. crows, seagulls, etc. and the smell itself so close to people’s homes. It appears the company and the Ontario government have tried to conceal this plan from the community and the municipality of Chatham-Kent as to be a “done deal” until it has come to the attention of a few in approximately the last month. York1 have changed the meeting format to an open house on March 1st rather than a meeting to allow the voices of members of community to be heard. The size of the venue at the arena of only 300-325 is deplorable as it stifles the voices of members of the community to be heard. There is just too much wrong of this plan that can be scripted in this comment section. It likely this remark will “fall on deaf ears as well!”
