I am disappointed that the Ontario Drive Clean Program is being cancelled.
Number one, I supported Ontario in their efforts to ensure a cleaner environment to ensure vehicles were held to a higher emissions standard.
Number two, I own two drive clean testing facilities and over the life of the program have invested well over $150,000 in equipment and training which is now useless. I currently have 4 technicians that need to recertify this month in order to continue testing until the end of March and I cannot get a decision from the Ontario Drive Clean program on whether I can have their current certification extended until the end of the program, which would make sense to me for them to do. Instead I am going to be required to pay hundreds of dollars into a program that is ending in order to allow them to continue testing until March.
