York1 should not be allowed to convert prime agricultural land outside Dresden into a landfill. They have purchase an additional 150 acres of farmland to expand this project. That land is perfect for growing crops because it has the longest frost-free season and warmest average temperatures in Ontario. These rich soils and warm climate also support rare plants and wildlife within Canada’s Carolinian Life Zone. The original, but now dormant, 0.8 hectare landfill was never intended to consume 25 hectares of fertile land!
