Placing a landfill/recycling…

Comment

Placing a landfill/recycling entity only 1km away from a town is a horrible idea on its own, but putting it also by a waterway, ecosystem and far out of the way from any main highway, compounds associated issues with this proposed plan. There are so many better land options in a rural area that wouldn't ruin a town, ecosystems and our roads. The original dormant permits were provided in the 1970s for a small dumping area and just growing it's cabilities without thoroughly investigating it's placement would be a complete oversight. I also think it's worth noting the company York 1 has taken many measures to conceal their purchase of this land in the first place and tried to push through these permits without first consulting the public that they would be so badly effecting. Can we truly trust a company like this who has already acted in bad faith towards my growing community? Is the air I breath worth ruining? Are the local ecosystems worth destroying? These questions need to be looked at much further because when a company has already lead with mistrust, who says they won't continue to be a detriment to our community.
