Thanks very much for the opportunity to comment on the proposed Park Management Plan. Here are some comments:
1. When available, aspects of the park detailed design should be shared with the public on-line with explanations as to how the design drawings and reports conform to the Park Management Plan.
2. With respect to the proposed zoning: In comparing the Landscape Connectivity values shown on Figure 3 of the Management Plan with the Proposed Zoning shown on Figure 4, it appears that Development Zone D2 at the southwest shore of Crosson Lake is within an area of High Connectivity. Based on this, recommend that any detailed design for development within this area of Development Zone D2 should have extra regard for connectivity values at the interface between D2 and: A1, NR2, and NR3. Further, perhaps a special Development Zone for the portion that overlaps with high connectivity including special policy direction should be considered.
3. Consider special connectivity design for the proposed infrastructure within the portion of A1 and D2 that divides NR2 from NR3.
4. Recommend that campsites be spaced generously to maintain landscape connectivity values and to enhance privacy as well.
5. Further to comment no. 1, draft site plans should be shared when available.
6. With respect to the existing private recreational camp within the park boundary, how long is that activity anticipated to last and will it be phased out over time?
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this exciting project. I hope to see this park enter into operation as soon as possible.
