Instead of damaging this unspoiled part of Muskoka, Ontario should be expanding protected places to safeguard nature as well as meet the demand for more connection with the outdoors. We all love camping! But drive-in campsites, food concessions, and summer crowds push out wildlife and carve up the intact habitats that they depend on. Bigwind is home to 14 species at risk, including Algonquin wolves, supported by the park’s mature mixed forests, wetlands and waterways. The proposal for Bigwind means adding 250 campsites, roofed accommodation, paved roads, maintenance facilities, a camp store and food services smack in the middle of a rich natural environment and wildlife corridor.

Expand the Park system, don’t carve the heart out of Bigwind!
