Yet another insane Ford government blatantly creates proposed regulation under the Conservation Authorities Act that would enable the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry to override a broad suite of Conservation Authorities, permitting decisions that prohibit or impose strict conditions on development in wetlands, watercourses, river valleys and other areas under Conservation Authority jurisdiction. WATERSHEDS ARE IMPORTANT and must be managed with local knowledge!
I trust my local Conservation Authority and have seen quality actions and decisions pertinent to water flow, wetlands, bogs and fens where I live.
This legislation is yet another serious reduction in Ontario's Democracy and represents what this government is really about.
Shame on Minister Graydon Smith, of Natural Resources and Forestry! Shame on you. Shame on Premier Doug Ford!
