A full comprehensive environmental assessment needs to be completed to determine what side effects will be caused by being forced to live in such close proximity to this proposed mega dump. Construction materials and organic waste contain hazardous substances like benzene and silica, it has been proven that benzene causes leukemia and silica causes silicosis when a human is exposed to the substance for an extended period of time, for example: permanently living 500 meters from a landfill. With the expectation to store, transport, and “recycle” said materials we can expect a very large amount of particulates to be airborne. Once airborne these particles will be inhaled, and due to these particles settling on our crops, ingested. An environmental assessment needs to be completed at the very least, however this project proposal and permits should be revoked.
