I truly fear for the future when I see such undemocratic legislation as Bill 185 being proposed by our provincial government. Removing the public's ability to appeal planning decisions is only one step away from removing their right to vote.
What should be removed is sections 3(1), 3(3) and 5(7) of Schedule 12, as they are the sections that seek to remove the our ability to appeal the adoption or amendment of Official Plans and Zoning By-Laws under sections 17(24), 17(36) and 34(19) of the Planning Act.
Let's use some common sense here.
