I am one of many Canadians against trapping and while this proposal is a miniscule change for the better, it does not go nearly far enough.
The world over, opinion is changing regarding the use of fur for human adornment. There is a shrinking market and I believe the better thing to do would be to phase our snares and leghold/body gripping traps altogether and help people who rely on trapping to survive, find other ways to make a living or supplemental income. There should NEVER be such a thing as 'recreational trapping'. Killing animals should never be considered a hobby, sport or recreational pastime.
Thank you
