While there are, "perhaps", ways and means to make snares "somewhat" less inhumane, there is nothing humane about snaring animals which is why they have been banned in other countries. This suffering is endured by both target and non-target species because, not un-like all traps and poisons, snares are indiscriminate. It is 2024 and well-past time to end defaulting to lethal means for "managing" wildlife populations. We need to adopt peaceful coexistence and compassionate conservation strategies.
