The province should disclose research findings on the ERO page for public consultation. Animal welfare should be prioritized in trapping laws, based on current science, not industry guidelines. Relaxing cable restraints, not certified under the International Humane Trapping Standards, should not be used. Snares, causing harm to all animals and not certified, should be banned in Ontario, following global trends. Farmers should adopt non-lethal, predator-friendly methods over trapping.
