According to International Humane Trapping Standards of which Canada is supposed to be adhering to, these new recommendations are wrong and snares should be banned.
On the Government of Canada website it says When the testing of traps used for a species is completed, the use of traps not certified in accordance with the standards of the Agreement will be prohibited.
Where is the research to support using snares and to support changes to them? Only using information supplied by the Fur Industry is not valid research, they are the ones who will be profiting.
People of Ontario demand to see research by scientists and qualified animal welfare experts when deciding the impact on animals proposed by the government.
